Getting Here

Getting to Newport

Newport and Middletown are both fairly accessible from the regions’ closest airports– Providence is about 30 minutes, Boston is around 90 minutes. If you’re coming in from Boston, we recommend doing Friday night in our hometown and coming in first thing Saturday morning. If you are planning on staying in Boston for a night, be sure to get on the road early to avoid the nasty weekend traffic. A 90 minute quick trip time can double on a (hopefully!) sunny weekend day.

If you’re coming in straight from the airport, here’s the skinny on how to get here fast.

From Boston:

1. Hop on I-90 E to exit 24 B-C. This will put you on I-93 S
2. Stay on I-93 S until exit 4 to MA-24 S toward Brockton
3. Take the exit onto I-195 W toward Fall River
4. Take exit 8A to merge onto MA-24 S toward Newport RI/Tiverton RI
5. MA-24 S will become W Main Rd/RI-114
6. Turn right at Farewell St
7. Turn left at Sanford St
8. Turn left at Thames St
9. You’re in Downtown! Have fun!

From Providence:

1. Hop on I-95 S. and take a slight right onto RI-4 S.
2. You’ll take another slight right at Tower Hill Rd/US-1
3. Take the RI-138 ramp to Jamestown
4. Keep left at the fork to head on RI-138 E.
5. Take the exit toward RI-238
6. Turn right at JT Connell Rd
7. Continue on Farewell St
8. Turn right at Americas Cup Ave
9. You’re in Downtown! Have fun!

If you plan on doing a lot of trips into the city of Newport, we recommend renting a car at the airport. Parking at the hotels is either free or wicked cheap, but make sure you bring cash for the city. Parking can be hard to find; lots range from $10-20 a night depending on when you head in. Luckily, almost all the lots let you stay in until well after last call. We recommend picking a place and walking for most of your trips in the city. Everything is close and convenient and you’ll get a great view of the harbors!

Getting to Belle Mer

Belle Mer is relatively quick to get to from anywhere in Newport. It’s about 10 minutes from the furthest hotel and offers free parking for all guests.
